Let’s check out the New AI Capabilities in Nerdio Manager for Enterprise
In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the landscape of IT management, Nerdio has taken a significant leap forward with the release of Nerdio Manager for Enterprise (NME) version 6.0. This update brings a suite of innovative AI-driven features designed to streamline operations, optimize costs, and enhance the overall efficiency of IT environments. Let’s delve into the transformative AI capabilities that NME 6.0 offers.
1. AssistPro: Your AI-Powered IT Assistant
One of the standout features in NME 6.0 is AssistPro, an AI-powered in-app assistant that provides instant, context-aware support. AssistPro leverages Nerdio’s extensive management documentation to answer support and how-to questions without requiring users to submit service requests. This capability not only saves time but also empowers IT professionals to resolve issues more efficiently, enhancing productivity and reducing downtime.
Please note AssistPro leverages Azure OpenAI. As of the release of this feature, Azure customers are required to request access to Azure OpenAI via this form. In addition, Azure OpenAI has per region and pre-subscription quotas
Cost of AssistPro
AssistPro has the following paid components:
- App Service
- Application Insights
- Azure Cosmos DB account
- Key vault
- Log Analytics workspace
- Azure OpenAI service
Azure AI Search Customers can get accurate pricing of the components by using the Azure Pricing calculator.
As per Nerdio public docs the estimated cost for AssistPro when using out of the box and with up to 7 users as of version 5.7 of Nerdio Manager is $110 -$120 per month.
Additional Details:
Every chat via AssistPro creates two indexes in the Azure Cosmos database. The implementation of the language model (LLM) operates with tokens. The number of tokens is a combination of the system prompt, the user’s input, and the LLM’s output. This token count determines how much “memory” the bot retains about previous exchanges in the current conversation. If the conversation exceeds the maximum token count configured for the model, older data is discarded. However, the entire chat history remains visible in the user interface until it is deleted using the delete history button.
Deployment:
By default, AssistPro deploys all resources within the same region. Whenever possible, Nerdio use free or lowest-cost tier resources.
Feature Limitations:
- Only accounts that are assigned to the AVD admin role can interact with AssistPro.
- Accounts with the Reviewer role can see the AssistPro option but it does not load.
- Disabling the feature doesn’t delete Azure resource deployed when the feature was
enabled.
- Users cannot control the throttling limit per day and/or month.
- Users cannot control what data we store.
- There is no support for notifications.
- There is no mechanism for identifying and filtering out false positives.
- In v5.7, a maximum of 7 users can interact with AssistPro at the same time.
- ln v5.7, the implementation uses Azure AI Search.
2. ScriptPro: Automating Complex Tasks with AI
Coming soon to NME is ScriptPro, another AI-driven tool designed to simplify the creation and execution of scripts. ScriptPro can generate Azure and Windows PowerShell scripts to automate a variety of tasks, such as installing software, configuring services, and managing Azure resources. By automating these complex actions, ScriptPro enhances operational efficiency and allows IT teams to focus on more strategic initiatives. I’ll review it once it will be released.
3. Generative AI Integration
NME 6.0 uses Azure Open AI to assist with contextual support and report generation. This AI technology uses machine learning to continuously optimize the infrastructure, detect anomalies, and ensure a proactive management environment. By leveraging the vast amounts of data within cloud environments, Generative AI helps predict and address potential issues before they impact operations.
4. Advanced AI-Driven Cost Optimization
Cost optimization has always been a core strength of Nerdio, and NME 6.0 takes this to the next level with AI-enhanced features. The platform now includes advanced storage optimization for Azure Files and Azure NetApp Files, OS disk swapping, and Advanced Predictive Drain Mode. These tools help align Azure infrastructure more closely with real-time user demands, significantly reducing costs while maintaining optimal performance.
Why These AI Capabilities Matter
The integration of AI into Nerdio Manager for Enterprise is more than just a technological upgrade; it’s a strategic enhancement that aligns with the evolving needs of modern IT environments. Here’s why these AI capabilities are game changers:
Efficiency and Productivity: AI-driven tools like AssistPro and ScriptPro automate routine and complex tasks, freeing up valuable time for IT professionals to focus on higher-level strategic work.
Proactive Management: Generative AI and machine learning provide continuous optimization and anomaly detection, ensuring a proactive approach to IT management that prevents issues before they escalate.
Cost Savings: Advanced AI-powered cost optimization features help organizations save significantly on their Azure costs, making cloud infrastructure more affordable and efficient.
Conclusion
Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 6.0 represents a significant step forward in AVD management, bringing cutting-edge AI capabilities to the forefront. By integrating AI throughout its platform, Nerdio is setting a new standard for efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in managing Microsoft cloud environments. As organizations continue to navigate the complexities of modern IT, tools like NME 6.0 are indispensable for driving innovation and maintaining a competitive edge.
