Windows 7 End of Support for Azure Virtual Desktop

Customers who are still using Windows 7 session hosts in their AVD infrastructure should plan to move their users to any other supported OS like Windows 10 or Windows 11. As Microsoft has recently announced that the support for Windows 7 has come to an end.

As per Microsoft’s update on January 10, 2023, Azure Virtual Desktop’s support for Windows 7 clients and virtual machines came to an end. All Windows 7 editions are included in this. This implies that no further technical support or software upgrades will be given. They have advised updating both clients and virtual machines (VMs) to a more recent, operational, and supported Windows release.
