In this session, I will explore how to automate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) deployments to achieve faster, more secure, and more consistent virtual desktop environments. As organizations scale their remote and hybrid workforces, automation is key to reducing manual effort, minimizing errors, and improving operational efficiency.

We’ll kick things off with a quick overview of AVD architecture, highlighting common pain points in traditional deployments. Then, I’ll showcase two practical, hands-on video demos to demonstrate how automation tools can transform the process:

✅ Demo 1: Golden Image Deployment of AVD with Terraform
In this demo, I will show how to use Terraform to automate the deployment of a golden image for AVD. You’ll see how to define infrastructure as code to provision host pools, session hosts, and all required configurations from a standardized, secure image — ensuring consistency across your environment and making updates much simpler.

✅ Demo 2: Application Deployment on AVD Hosts with Ansible
Next, I’ll demonstrate how to automate application deployments to AVD session hosts using Ansible. We’ll look at how to manage application lifecycles at scale, push updates efficiently, and enforce standardized configurations across multiple hosts, reducing manual overhead and ensuring reliability.

By the end of this session, you’ll understand how to leverage Terraform and Ansible together to fully automate AVD environments—from core infrastructure to application layer—and deliver a robust virtual desktop experience to your users with minimal manual intervention.
